Expert comments from Dr Dilip Malhotra,
Chief Orthopedic Consultant, International Hospital , Bahrain
"I received the sagittal and axial views of Kantilal's MRI. It does show a degenerate right centro-lateral disc protrusion at L5/S1 with slight indentation of the thecal sac with no stenosis of the foramen, in the pre treatment pictures, and a definite improvement in the post treatment. This means that 'contained' disc herniations can go back to its original position contrary to the earlier belief that once the disc is out it always remain out. ”

CONCLUSION : Acupuncture is effective and induces not only long-lasting remission of back-pain wherein disc is involved but also helps in correcting disc prolapse
